This particular model was sold on ebay by George’s Good Stuff in November 2007 for £930 in the following condition:
Complete and in its superb complete original polystyrene and card window box, complete with the original Mr Retailer transit protector card, the set of road cones still sealed in their plastic bag and the instructions leaflet!
This is the very very rare second issue late 1960s Corgi car transporter gift set, extremely difficult to track down anywhere, and I doubt you’d be able to find a better example than this anywhere in the world today!
Overall this great set is in pretty much mint perfect ‘shop stock’ condition – all of the models in the set are in absolutely stunning mint perfect condition, never been played with, and the box is equally superb, both the card outer and the polystyrene inner tray are crisp, clean and bright, the card outer showing just slight age wear but with the original cellophane sheet still in place and 100 per cent intact… I don’t think this set has ever been used or played with, it has obviously been in storage for the past 38 years and must have come from some unsold toy shop stock.
Inside the box is the very rare shop retail protective card showing the words ‘Mr Retailer – Please remove for display’ in several languages, and also present is the original instructions slip showing how to operate the seats on the Hillman Imp, plus the original set of traffic cones still sealed in the plastic bag.
I have never seen this set offered in this fantastic condition before, it’s just the absolute best you’ll find anywhere – don’t miss out on this extremely rare opportunity to acquire a very nice antique collectible that can only increase in value over the years!
