This particular model was sold on ebay by George’s Good Stuff in July 2006 for £676 in the following condition:
The retailer card was included by Corgi to protect the cellophane, which the shopkeeper would remove before displaying the model in the toy shop. This is the first I’ve ever found with this card included – the set itself is difficult enough to find in any event! – so this makes it something of an exceptional rarity.
All five models are in immaculate mint perfect condition. They look like they have never been played with, as fresh as the day they came out of the factory – absolutely wonderful!
All the extras are also unused – the plastic bag of cones has never been opened, the racing decals sticker sheet is untouched and there’s the original Join The Corgi Model Club leaflet and the two straw bales in there as well.
The outer window box itself is in superb condition for its age – there is the usual very light age wear to the corners and a negligible hinge tear to one end flap, but other than that it is bright, crisp, clean and 100 per cent complete, unmarked and with absolutely perfect cellophane – very nice indeed! Inside, the polystyrene tray has had a tiny repair to one ridged compartment edge, but other than that is perfect, all intact, very clean and all complete.

Overall, this is an absolutely first-class example of a very difficult to find gift set, in stunning unplayed-with condition – I can’t recall seeing one offered as good as this anywhere for quite some time now, so this is definitely one for the serious collector!
